11:55 pm - back again
|
OK, in the 5 minutes I have until my computer craps out again, I'm back!!!!!
I have a new job in an aquarium selling fish. Well, mostly my job involves cleaning fishtanks, but I get to sell fish too :)
Muffy - I am in Sydney from Wednesday until Sunday morning. When I find out if we have free time, I will email you. You have my phone number right? If not, let me know and I will email it to you.
Woot!! Sydney, here I come. I like planes :) Although I can't take my stitching, I can take Fred with me and listen to music. My camera will also be not in luggage, and will stay with me the entire time :)
At this very moment, my life doesn't suck...much.
Oh, and I scored Expert on the following quiz - see if you can do better. Thanks to bitterguy :)

 | You scored as Severus Snape. Well you're a tricky one aren't you? Nobody quite has you figured out and you'd probably prefer it stayed that way. That said you are a formidable force by anyone's reckoning, but there is certainly more to you than a frosty exterior and a bitter temper.

oh, wow, I can't believe how long it's been. I couldn't log on for ages, then my computer suddenly realised it was shitting me seveely and decided to work *shrug*.
My sick rat died. My 3 silver perch died. My silver shark died. Not a good week.
I got a new job!!!!!!! I am now working at the cranbourne Aquarium full time. I don't think I will ever get paid though. I'm taking my wages in fish!
This does mean I will have to move sometime soon though. When my pay goes up, so does my rent. Have to finish my 6 weeks trial before I even think of moving though.
This Saturday I have my level 2 update for my first aid certificate. Let's see if I remember any of my training - *strains brain* I think some of it is still in there.
A pet shop is finally going to take some of the baby rats, not that they are babies any more though. They are 3 months old. One litter was born the same day as my new niece was. Shall tease her with that when she's old enough. One of my cousins was born the same day as my foal was. That was many years ago though. Finished rereading my Anita Blake books and am now on to the Tanya Huffs Vicky Nelson books first, followed by the Quarters, then the random stuff. Still have to figure out who has my sequal to Summon the Keeper though, I can't remember who borrowed it.
Am looking forward to Sydney in March. I will have money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay for new jobs :)

( rat news )
Muffy - I'm coming to around near you again this March, will call you closer to the time and set up another meet :) Will also need to get my DVD's off you then. Did you know they have released a 'Willow' DVD with most of those eps on it? They also have 'Spike' and 'Faith'. No 'Xander' though. Caught Firefly for the first time last night. Interesting episode, trust channel 7 to have it on near midnight. After Scrubs and Arrested Development. What is it with 7 and showing good stuff in the middle of the night and complete crap on at prime time? If I have to skate past another reality show or episode of 'My Wife and Kids' or similar crap my rats are gonna get the life scared out of them by the strength of my scream.
I'm now working 5 days a week. Starting at 6.30am, yes, AM!!! Pay packets are nice. Not having stitching time isn't
Am rereading my Anita Blake books. Am up to the second last one, and it's been less than a week. Go Me!!
Updated Rover to the new iRiver H340. 40gig of memory, a colour screen and now I can show photos :) He has been christened 'Fred'. I can't call him Rover, because I sold Rover to Nicole and she's keeping the name.
Random is fun - Metallica, followed by Bon Jovi, followed by whales, followed by Tracy Chapman, followed by EdGuy, you get the idea. I Never know what I'm gonna hear next.
Now back to your scheduled programming.........

This is just a teeny bit weird. I'm a dedicated m/m slasher. I have no idea how I got this result
What's your Star Trek 'Ship? brought to you by Quizilla
Although I do adore Muffy's Crookshanks/garden gnomes story (I have it on my desktop so I can read it whenever I like)
You will all be utterly fascinated to know that I have a sick rat. She's been on antibiotics for 5 days now ans has only just stopped hissing at me when I go near her. It looks like she is getting better though. Baby rats are just on a month old now :) They are so cute and precious. Playing with them is fun.
My fish tank is all set up, My silver perch are having a blast swanning around with all the bits of wood and stones and stuff. My yabby is having fun doing her "'RAR! I attack you" stance whenever someone, or something, gets anywhere near her. Rat photos will be up when I get the chance.

Well, home again. I've been working my bum off lately. I put my fishtank on layby, and found out yesterday that my tax cheque isn't going to cover it so I have to work more don't want to.
Also been loading more of my CD's onto my computer so I can transfer them to Rover. Then I plan to pack my CDs away, only keeping out the ones I actually play a lot. Otherwise, I can just hook Rover up to my speakers and hit 'random'. We will see how it goes. I need to make some space for the tank so I also have to pack up some of my books. I need to go through them and pack away all the books I haven't read in the past 12 months. That may narrow the sections down. I found that if I do that, then I only keep my very favourite books in the bookcases. Like my Anita Blake books. They get read on average of once every 3-4 months. All umpty zillion of them. And a new one due out pretty much any time now. When it comes out, don't expect coherancy from me for a week or two *g*

Leisurely get up this morning. Started work at 10.30. Meandered in and spread my glitter all over the place. I have none left now though.
Unconsciously tried to bite finger nails and got a mouth full of ick. I painted them with anti nail biting stuff. Then forgot. Icy ick icky.
My legs are killing me from yesterday. I don't think my quads will forgive me any time soon. Came home and downnloaded more music. Didn't watch TV, couldn't be bothered.

5:37 pm - well looky! another post
|
and yet more boring stuff.
Yesterday I saw an ad for Bunnings. 8 point power boards for $3.95. I though "Great, I'll get one or two of those". I went to work. I left work and went to the gym. Darren made me up a new program. Darren is cute. Darren is nice. Darren is BUILT. But Darren writes nasty programs. It totally wiped me out. I was a panting, sweaty mess on the floor after it, and not in a good way either.
I slogged over to Bunnings on the bike. In the pouring rain. Only to find out that not only don't Bunnings have pretty little stickers that I NEED, but the power boards are only on sale at Keysborough and Mentone. I got direntions for the Keysborough store, telling the girl that I was on a pushbike. She directed me up the highway to Springvale Road (IN SPRINGVALE) and down that to Cheltenham Road. I went that wasy. Not only did I go through Dandenong, I went through Noble Park and Springvale as well. I finally get to Keysborough and get 5 of the power oards 'cos you never know when one will come in handy. They didn't hav nifty stickers either. So I went another two kilometres, luckily toward home and picked some up at the shopping centre. I also picked up chocolate and a new watch ($2.98 in GoLo) for work. And lollies. I needed suger to get me home. Now, if I had have known where Keyborough Bunnings was I could have cutr across the highway and chopped roughly 10km off my trip. I must remind myself next time I am at the Dandenong store to go over the counter and strangle that shop assistant.
I got home at about 5.30pm. Soaked and freezing so I had a hot bath, with a fairy jasmine bath bomb in it. My whole flat glitters now. I have left little glittery bits thoughout the entire place, and some dropped off at work too. I likes glitter.
When I finished that I went to bed. At 8.30. Then of course I woke up every hour and the hour and couldn't sleep because I was too tired. So I wound bobbins of DMC for 3 hours. Then I slept. My bed is covered in sparkly glittery bits.
Must admit, although I don't like working the long hours, my pay packet should be a doozy this fortnight. Not as good as last fortnight though.

9:32 pm - Looky! Actual update on the actual day!! Wonder will never cease

Hmmmmm, yesterday had a phone call from Marg asking if I could open the cafe Monday, she didn't feel well. So I did.
Got in at 6ish to find a note in the diary from Casey, who was supposed to close but decided she didn't want to work and left a note saying she asked a couple of people but couldn't get someone to cover. Sorry. I had a 12 HOUUR SHIFT YOU BITCH!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't get home until after 7.30pm. I did, however, get to use my iRiver. Ishowed it off to everyone. It sounds great too :)
Called Nicole and Grizz and made arrangements to go show it off there tomorrow. Been downloading music now for over two hours. Must stop soon, before I hit my download limit.
Nighty all :)
Oh, I took photos at Cleensweep, but they didn't show very well *pout*

8:08 pm - third time lucky
|
Livejournal just keeps swallowing my happy posts. Does it want me to be depressed?
Anyhoo, on to the good :)
Thursday morning - work. Grumpy me. Finance Officer came in with our Tax forms and pay sheets. Made me open mine in front of her. We got backpaid!!!!!!!!!!!! From November!!!!!!!!!! Money, money, money! She got hugged and no one complained about me being grumpy for the rest of the day *grins*
Left as quickly as I could and headed straight to JBHiFi. Bought Nic an mp3 player for her birthday (shhhhhh) I bought me an iRiver 20gig iPoddy type thing :) And lots of Buffy, and some heavy metal DVDs. I spent all my money. Was lots of fun though :) Went straight to Radical Records from there for the Edguy signing. Gots two of my CD's signed, but, bad groupie, bad, bad groupie. Guess who forgot their camera? Yeah, me. And the guys were just fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. They posed for photos and signed stuff for over two hours. Jens is teh hot!!!! and the rest of the band aren't bad either. Whatever happened to my drummer fixation? Felix was nice, but, hey. Oh, yeah. I was the only person in the entire store not dressed all in black. I had on my white shorts and sunshiny yellow t shirt. I stood out like a fried egg at a burnt bacon conference.
Headed home to find out that I couldn't do anything with my iRiver becuase I didn't have any music I could load onto it. Long time spent on the puter trying to find a freebie CD Ripper.
Friday
Stopped in at Radical to get a concert ticket for tonight's EdGuy concert. I was debating last night because the gig is in St Kilda, woman alone, late at night, etc, etc. Woke up Friday morning humming music and decided, what the heck. I might get mugged and raped, and whatever, but at least I could get to the concert first.
I got asked to stay back and shocked the shit out of everyone by saying no. Told them I had to go to a concert and not to ring for the weekend.
Bolted home, showered, dressed and zoomed off to the train station. Weird young person on the train into Flinders Street. Off his face on something, he was annoying everyone with his paranoid rhyming. Traded smirks with other 'over it' passengers.
Tram to St Kilda. There were some gothy looking people at the stop, and yep, they got off at the Espy too, and walked in just ahead of me.
Lined up. Chatted to the other guys in line. Hardly any women there. Talked up a storm for half an hour or so until they opened the doors. Went in and bought myself a baccardi breezer. I wanted something that didn't taste like alcohol.
Hung about with Ben, who was in line with me. We talked through the breaks and cracked jokes and generally hooned about.
( The first band, Phantombola )
Went to the loo a few times between songs, and got pissed off because in one of those times, there was a drum solo. Ptooey.
( the second band, Dungeon )
crowd started getting restless and singing stuff and generally just being an audience. People also started closing the gaps, and I started to see more women. I did tap the guy in front of me on the shoulder and ask him if I could spend the first couple of songs in front so I could take photos. I had asked earlier if I could take photos because I didn't want my camera confiscated. I was told only during the first 3 songs. He said sure. I said thank you quite prettily. Another guy asked me if I were here with Ben, and when I said no, got just a little friendlier ;) I was quite the popular girl :) Some guy on callipers tried to push in front and I pretty unpolitely told him to back off. After all, I had been staking out that spot for a couple of hours already and I wasn't moving for anybody (except, maybe if Jens had asked me backstage, then calliper guy could have my spot, but, alas, no luck) Finally, the lights went down, and the curtain opened.
( Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Freakshow! )The concert finished at about quarter past two. Ben and I walked to the Night Rider stop to wait for our bus but the first one just whizzed on by with no sign of stopping. It was at this time that I realised I had lost my grandmothers' marcasite and silver phoenix brooch. Bolted back to the Espy but no one had handed it in. Checked out the floor but couldn't find it. I hope whoever has it has as much fun with it as I did. The might want to fix the wonky clip though. *pout*
Caught the next Night Rider to Swanston Street, where Ben and I parted. It was after I got on the bus that I realised I had given Ben the wrong email addy for me. Got into conversation with the oher four people on the bus. We chatted chocolate and favourite recipes. (mine, golden syrup dumplings with a chunk of belgian chocolate in the middle, put here before you cook them so they go all gooey. people were Impressed)
Got dropped off in the middle of Dandenong, where the last passenger and I went to the station to pick up my bike. He escorted me to the police station. Nice guy. Didn't want to see a lone woman in Dandenong so early in the morning. Did I score on the guy front or what tonight? Wonder if it was the perfume. If it was, I'm wearing it more often. When I looked at him strange he told me that I looked like I could take care of myself but he was old fashioned.
I was surprised at just how nice everyone was, well, almost everyone. It was a pleasant change. Got home and was too wired to sleep, so got onto the internet to update my journal. It got eaten. Then it got eaten again.
I emailed the holder of the email addy I gave to Ben and asked her if she could pass on a message if he called by. I hope she realised I wan't spamming her. I really want to hear from him again. Finally got to sleep about 6ish.
( Saturday )
( Sunday )
If you got to the bottom of this long rambling mess, congratulations :)

a short enquiry to those of you who know about downloading music.
I haven't figured out how to get music onto my iRiver yet. It does mention Winamp, which I don't have. I'm in the process of downloading Musicmatch, which seems to be taking forever. Any hints and tips? I think I'mt the only person in the world who doesn't download music.
